P HOGAN - Lived in the same apartment block as Mr Bergstrom.

P. PIGGLY HOGSWINE SUPER-SMORG - Restaurant where Marge, Homer, Grampa and Mrs Bouvier once dined.

PADDLING OF THE SWOLEN ASS...WITH PADDLES - One of the many initiation rituals performed by the Stonecutters.

PAGEANT OF THE TRANSMUNDANE - Freakshow that Homer performed for at Hullabalooza.

PAINFUL MEMORIES PARTY SUPPLIES - Shop that once aptly reminded Marge that her marriage was in ruins.

PAINLESS DENTISTRY - Dental surgery owned by Dr Wolfe, was formerly known as Painful Dentistry.

PALM CORNERS - One of the many places the Simpsons saw on their visit to Florida. Palm Corners is in Six Toe County.

PANAMANIAN STRONGMAN - Arcade game played by Bart and Milhouse.

PARDON MY ZINGER - The TV show that Smithers was watching when Mr Burns got shot.

PARTY POSSE - Boy band set-up by Lt. Smash on behalf of the navy. Members included: Bart; Milhouse; Nelson; and Ralph Wiggum. They were signed on Classified Records, and their first hit single was called "Drop Da Bomb".

PASTA VILLA - Can be found in Shelbyville, next to the Shelbyville Orphanage.

PATTY & SELMA - Twin sisters of Marge Simpson. They share their love for cigarettes, TV show MacGyver and their hatred for Homer Simpson. They both work at the DMV, can grow leg hair very rapidly, and insult their brother-in-law with ease. They consider a kiss "scoring".

PATTY SAKAI - Richie Sakai's wife.

PAWN SHOP - Name of one of the many shops in Springfield.

PAY & PARK & PAY - Car park where Smithers met Bart & Lisa to tell them about Sideshow Bob's plans to rig the Mayoral election.

PEABODY MUSEUM - Where Larry Burns was conceived.

PEANUT FACTORY - Springfield's peanut factory spends two hours a day training for elephant attacks, but even so, they still seemed unprepared when Stampy went on the rampage.

PEDRO - How Marge referred to Homer when she was told not to use his real name.

PEE N SEE HOME PREGNANCY TEST - Used by Manjula to see if she was up the duff.

PEEPHOLE - Magazine enjoyed by Marge, Patty and Selma.

PEEPIN IT REAL - Show that replaced the Simpsons when it was put on hiatus.

PEG LEG PETE - Name that Bart thought the pirate might be called in Treasure Island.

PENICILL O'S - Breakfast cereal enjoyed by Moe.

PENNYBAGS - Mr Burns: "Between him and Scrooge McDuck, all the best ankle is taken".

PEPI - Unfortunate disadvantaged kid who Homer took under his wing as part of the Bigger Brother program. Homer used to call him "Pepsi". His most annoying feature is his massive eyes.

PEPSI B - Drink that Apu & Manjula were supplied with after they had octuplets.

PERMANENT RECORD DEPOSITORY - "Warning: trespassing will be noted on your permanent record."

PERSEPHANE - The Greek goddess of spring and rebirth. Powell's execs wanted to name a car Persephane, but Herb said no.

PETS - Magazine on sale at the Kwik-E-Mart.

PHANTOM OF THE OPRY - One of the many shows playing when Bart, Milhouse, Martin and Nelson visited Branson.

PHIL - Quality-control guy at the Duff Brewery. Items he's found in bottles include: mice; rats; syringes; and a nose.

PHIL - Name of one of Cletus' many kids.

PHIL - Works at the Springfield Grocery Store.

PHIL'S GAS - One of the many sights the Simpsons saw on their trip to Capital City.

PHILIPS - Marge's cellmate when she was briefly in prison. She got her nickname because she killed he husband with a Phillips screwdriver.

PHINEAS Q. BUTTERFAT'S 5600 FLAVOR ICE CREAM PARLOR - Local ice cream parlour that sells many ice creams including Mount Bellyache.

PHONEY McRINGRING - Mascot of the telephone country that once split Springfield into 2 area codes - infuriating Homer. Thanks to Ross for this one.

PICTURE PERFECT - One of the many booths at the Franchise Expo.

PIMPLE-FACED KID - Has been employed at: Krustyburger; Gulp 'n' Blow; Lard Lad; IRS Burger; and Burn's Casino, has lots of pimples and a terribly annoying teenage voice.

PIN PALS - Name of Homer's league bowling team, funded by Mr Burns. Others in the team were: Otto, Moe and Apu.

PINCHY - Lobster who Homer bought in order to fatten up and eat, but eventually loved. Died after Homer decided to give him a hot bath. Instead of cremation or burial, Pinchy was eaten after his death.

PITILESS PUP ATTACK DOG SCHOOL - One of Homer's old places of work. He resigned because he didn't like being attacked.

PIZZA ON A STICK - Situated on Main Street.

PLANET OF THE DONUTS - Homer was once accused of eating half of the population.

PLATO'S REPUBLIC - Casino where Grampa nearly wasted all of his inheritance. Is situated close to Shotgun Pete's Wedding Chapel.

PLAYDUDE - Springfield's equivalent of Playboy. An interesting read if ever there was one!

PLOW KING - Alias taken-on by Barney after he bought a snow plough one winter.

PLUNDERER PETE'S - Store in the Springfield Mall, sells "conversation pieces from around the world". Where Burns bought the Simpsons Xt'tapalatakettle.

POCAHONTAS - One of the many tombstones situated in the Simpsons' basement, during the first-ever Halloween special.

POCKET FOX - Animal that existed for only 3 weeks in the 16th Century. A rare aphrodisiac made from its pockets was once used by Homer and Mr Burns.

POINTY KITTY - What Ralph once called a rat.

POLICE CHIEF CLANCY WIGGUM - Overweight, eer...police chief of Springfield. Not very good at his job. Father of the hapless Ralph Wiggum, often abuses his power. Loves donuts and ice cream, has failed to solve a single crime during his stint as Police Chief. Often confuses police terms such as: DOA and DUI.

POLICE CODE 318 - Waking a police officer.

POLICE COPS - New TV show featuring a character called Homer Simpson.

POLIO DOGS - On the menu at Grease's Cafe.

POOCHIE - Itchy & Scratchy Show character invented to try and increase the show's poor ratings. The voice was provided by Homer Simpson, and the character was thus, a big flop, which was not surprising when you see that the character was a rapping surfer dog - with attitude.

POOL SHARKS - Where the Simpsons bought their pool from. "Where the buyer is our chum".

POONAM - One of the Nahasapeemapetilon children.

POOPSIE THE CLOWN - Glow-in-the-dark figure sold on cable for only $29.95. Call 1-800-555-SHOP to order.

POP ROX/BUZZ COLA GRENADE - Inventive device that Homer used to help him and Marge escape from the Candy Industry Trade Show with the Gummi Venus De Milo.

POPPA WHEELIE'S - Roadside biker bar that Homer got beat up in when looking for Marge after she was taken by the Bakersfield Hell's Satans.

POPULAR SECRETARY - Magazine read by Lionel Hutz's secretary, Della.

PORE, PELTZ AND BEYOND - Shop run by Apu in the Simpsons Tall Tales.

PORK CHOPS - One of Homer's favourite foods.

PORK PRINCESS - Title won by Amber Dempsey.

PORK RINDS LIGHT - Snack enjoyed by Homer.

PORTION TIME - Vacuum-packed vegetarian meal enjoyed by Lisa.

POSTMASTER BILL - Guy who runs the Springfield Post Office.

POWELL MOTORS - Herb Powell's company, before Homer ruined it.

POWER PERSON - One of the many comics on sale in the Android's Dungeon.

PRAISELAND - Religious amusement park dreamt-up by Maude, and built be Ned Flanders. Attractions included: King David's Wild Ride; Whack-A-Satan; and Miracle Maude.

PREMIUM WASH - Setting which Homer sometimes uses at the car wash.

PRIA - One of the Nahasapeemapetilon children.

PRINCESS KASHMIR - Exotic dancer who nearly broke up Homer & Marge's marriage after Homer was caught dancing with her.

PRINCIPAL SEYMOUR SKINNER - Springfield Elementary School's Principal. Still lives with his mother, who has given him the nickname "Spanky". Was a member of the 1985 group the B-Sharps, and has an on-off fling with Mrs Krabappel. Among others, he teaches Bart, Lisa, Nelson, Milhouse, Ralph, Jimbo, Kearney, Wendell and Martin. Is rumoured to wear a toupee.

PRINCIPAL SUCKER - What Bart once called Principal Skinner.

PRINCIPAL VALIANT - Name of the Principal at Shelbyville Elementary School.

PRINCIPALS DO IT NINE MONTHS A YEAR - Slogan that can be found on an apron owned by Principal Skinner.

PRINCIPAL'S WORLD - Magazine enjoyed by Principal Skinner.

PROFESSOR FRINK - Springfield's chief inventor. Has invented such things as a Matter Transporter, the Frog Exaggerator, a Flying Motorbike, a house that is able to run, and the utterly brilliant Sarcasm Detector, unfortunately, none of the inventions work properly - or are totally and utterly useless.

PROFESSOR FRINK'S VIRTUAL CHILLI - One of the many stalls at the Springfield Chilli Cook-Off.

PROFESSOR LOMBARDO - Art teacher at the Springfield Community College, taught Marge how to paint using the Lombardo method - visualizing objects as simple geometric shapes.

PROFESSOR V.J. CORNUCOPIA'S FANTASTIC FOODMAGORIUM AND GREAT AMERICAN STAKERY - One of the many family restaurants in the Springfield area.

PROFESSOR VON BROWSERS SANITARIUM FOR DOGS - Dog school advertised in the Springfield Yellow Pages. They claim: "We taught a dog to drive". KL5-9716, if you want to give them a call.

PROPOSITION 24 - Invented by Mayor Quimby, it ensured that all illegal immigrants be sent back where they came from.

PUKAHONTAS - Title of the sensitive black-and-white film that Barney made about his alcoholism.

PUNCHLINE - Octopia stage name for one of Apu & Manjula's kids.

PUSSY WILLOW - Rank which Bart reached in the Junior Campers.
